30th January 2012

Finally the work to connect the AINA village to the national electric grid has begun. We are soooo pleased! We had presented our request in 2007 and it now really looks as if by the end of February we might be able to use our fridges and washing machines without turning on the generator! This is really good news for us and such an important step forward!

20th December 2011

Vicky Quondamatteo, AINA's President, spent Christmas at the village with some volunteers from Italy. There were also some other volunteers present during the Christmas holidays: two Kenyan nurses and two Americans, a father and daughter, invited by Barbara March.

On December 1st, 2012, on the occasion of the World Day dedicated to the fight against AIDS, the book "Positive" by Mara Mayer was presented in the town of Aqui Terme. The book has since been presented in the various local schools and all profits from the sale of the book will go to AINA's Children's Village.

14- 15 May 2011 - Photo exhibition: "The land of the smiling girls" - Acquapendente

On the 14th and 15th of May, in the occasion of the "Festival of the Pugnaloni" (a local traditional historical re-enacment) in Acquapendente, a special exhibition will be held in Via Roma 6. It is organized by one of our volunteers, the photographer Attilio Ulysse, with the collaboration and support from other volunteers who - like him – spent  the early months of 2011 at our AINA village in 'Nchiru. The event will take place in the beautiful setting of the delightful town of Acquapendente and will be a chance to get to know know the AINA village thanks to the wonderful photographs that depict children in their daily lives. See the invitation card.
